A judge can issue an arrest warrant if the addict dodges evaluations or the hearing, forcing drug treatment.
And if the addict refuses to go to court-ordered treatment or walks out, the judge can enforce a hefty ultimatum — rehabilitation or jail. If they relapse after completing treatment, the loved one can file a new Casey’s Law petition.
Relapses are common and can happen even after years of sobriety. But Casey’s Law can be filed again and again.
